Tulum Beaches
Tranquility - Relaxation - Excitement

Tulum offers a unique combination of powdery, white sandy beaches and a scenic seaside archaeological site along the Caribbean coast of Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula.

A diverse tourist destination, the Riviera Maya is blessed with a distinctive blend of activities and attractions. Guests can choose from adventure sports, golf, diving, snorkeling or kayaking, and diving in mystical underground caves (called "cenotes" by the ancient Mayans) and explore the rich culture of the Mayan world, all set against the backdrop of natural tropical beauty and abundant marine life.

A truly world-class travel destination, the Riviera Maya is a leading choice among travelers both regionally and across the globe.

Location, Location, Location: Tulum is the most unique among major Mayan sites, as the ruins are on a cliff top overlooking the blue-green Caribbean. This tropical beach backdrop is the main attraction of this picturesque, much-visited small ruin on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. Shortly after your arrival, you will understand why early Mayans picked this enchanting, spiritual place to relax. Tulum has been voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.

Tulum is an archaeological site as well as a small town between Cancun in the north and Chetumal in the south. The ruins are one of the best preserved coastal Maya sites, as well as one of the most popular archaeological sites in Mexico.

Formerly known as Zama, the ancient town was a trading post and a place of worship of the ancient Mayans. Built in the 13th century, Tulum was discovered by Spaniards in 1518, and was abandoned in the 17th century.

Today, the compact small archaeological site is a popular destination for tourism, thanks to its close proximity to the large resort areas such as Cancun and Playa del Carmen and the beautiful beaches right next to the site.

The town has grown from a small village into a town with a wide range of accommodations from affordable cabanas and villas to luxurious resorts and spas.
